Peter Jöback has established himself as one of the most prolific and respected Swedish stars - an extraordinary performer with an amazing voice. A platinumselling recording artist combined with extensive performances on stage and TV in Scandinavia and London’s West End, Peter Jöback is also a highly regarded name internationally.
Peter got his big break through his collaboration with ABBA legends Björn Ulvaeus and Benny Andersson. In their epic musical “Kristina från Duvemåla” (The Emigrants) Peter created the role of “Robert” and his theme song “Guldet blev till sand” broke every record in the Swedish charts and the original cast CD-box became a tripple-platinum album and received several Swedish grammy awards.
Cameron Macintosh early discovered Peter’s talent and offered him the lead as “Chris” in “Miss Saigon” at Theatre Royal Drury Lane in London’s West End in 1997. Three years later at the same theatre, Peter created the role of “Michael” in Cameron Macintosh’s original production of “The Witches of Eastwick”.

Peter has combined his theatre work with concerts, tours and several albums, both in Swedish and in English. As a recording artist, he has been awarded gold- and platinum discs for all of his releases as well as several Grammy nominations. Peter has the rare ability and talent to excell with both big symphony orchestras as well as in a small acoustic setting and he truly captures the audience in both scenarios.

His many stage performances and albums have been met with high critial acclaim. In fact, Peter’s very personal Christmas album wich was released two years ago is regarded as “The Ultimate Christmas album of all times”... On this album Peter also teamed up with Norwegian superstar Ms Sissel Kyrkjebö in a classic duet of Van Morrison’s “Be though my vision” in a Swedish translation. Sissel and Peter have been eachother’s guests at several concerts in Scandinavia and one in the USA.

2004 Peter released two albums, one in Swedish and one in English, which both reached the No. 1 position as well as Gold status. “Storybook” was the English one on which Peter performed classic songs with the internationally acclaimed Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra conducted by Nick Davies. GSO and Peter also did two concerts and the one from the Globe Arena was broadcast on Swedish TV earlier this year and received great critical acclaim.

2005 brought Peter Jöback to a superstar status in Norway as well. His first solo-tour there was a stunning success with audience as well as media and the “Storybook” album has now received Gold status in Norway as well with a peak position at No. 3 in the saleschart.

2006 started with Peter creating an amazing “MC” in the classic “Cabaret in Stockholm. Peter did this role to great critical acclaim already in 2003 at Gladsaxe Theatre in Copenhagen but this time the praise for Peter’s performance were even greater – the entire Swedish critics were on their knees... A wonderful start for the spring season of “Cabaret”.
